Flat roof replacement & modern cladding in Fordingbridge
The property featured an aging flat roof with a tired tile-hung perimeter and an original mineral felt covering. The roof’s thermal efficiency needed a complete overhaul, and the layout of the original skylights was no longer serving the space effectively. The customer required a rapid, high-performance modernisation capable of handling modern weather demands.
We performed a complete strip-out of the original mineral felt and heavy hanging tiles. We completely rebuilt the system from the ground up, installing a new vapour control layer, robust 6×2″ timbers, and 150mm foil-backed insulation topped with a fresh OSB3 deck. We infilled the original skylights to make way for a single, expansive 1500×1000 triple-layer skylight. To complete the modernisation, our roofing team laid a brand new mineral felt roof with expertly finished flashings. Around the perimeter, where the original tiles hung, we installed new battens and applied striking black ash shiplap cladding. This was flawlessly finished with a 250mm fascia board and a high-capacity deep flow gutter system.
