The initial step in the installation of the new Hardie Plank cladding involved the replacement of all the fascia, soffits, and guttering with uPVC. The customer opted for white fascias and soffits, complemented by black round guttering. Additional installations included over fascia ventilation, eaves tray, gutter guards, and bird guard, which are typically recommended for all comprehensive replacement installations as needed.
Replacing the old PVC Cladding
The existing PVC cladding and wooden battens were entirely removed. Horizontal battens were installed to accommodate the placement of rigid insulation beneath the cladding. After the insulation was in place, a breather felt membrane was affixed to the wall, followed by the vertical installation of battens in preparation for the new cladding. Finally, Cobblestone Hardie Plank cladding was fitted to the upper elevation around the entire house.
